Quick Fix:
p>Have a young tree in an irrigated area with foliage that is green and lush on the top half, but is starting to brown and fall off on the lower half? Simply check out the direction of the spray from your sprinklers.
Although trees need to Slots Top
be watered, especially in a drought, often irrigation spray hits the lower leaves. It can leave salt behind that, when dried, can cause the leaves to burn, brown and fall off. It may not kill the tree, but it will certainly look unattractive.
If you feel this may be the case, try installing a low-angle emitter in the sprinkler head that is causing the problem, or adjust the sprinkler head by simply moving it in the ground so that it leans forward where the spray does not hit the foliage any more.
